The COPS@Road system consists of one or more variable message traffic signs or flashing warning lights, along with detectors. It is designed to improve safety on hazardous road sections such as blind intersections, sharp bends, low-visibility underpasses, and similar high-risk traffic locations.
Using detectors, the system identifies the presence or approach of road users to a hazardous section and warns them of a potential collision risk through visual light signals.
SYSTEM OPERATION AND COMMUNICATION
Based on vehicle detection and real-time speed measurement of road users, the COPS system provides real-time collision risk warnings. By monitoring vehicle speed, the system effectively helps calm traffic through the use of adaptive warning signals.
The system enables:

Various system configurations are available:
• A traffic sign with two yellow flashing lights activated upon detection of an approaching vehicle
• A traffic sign with a variable message display section (for example, indicating an approaching vehicle)
• A traffic sign displaying vehicle speed for traffic calming and driver awareness purposes
We also offer variable message display solutions, typically featuring messages such as “You are driving” or “You are driving at a speed of.”
